“I think I’m quite mature and that’s due to the sport. I’m growing fast. It’s my first year as a professional, I travel a lot. It’s not easy not being able to see my family and friends so often, but it’s my job, so I have to get used to it.
In this last year I’ve shown that I’ve grown both mentally and physically. At the beginning of the season I was number 700 in the world. I realized that I was really good when I won the US Open Junior last year. I thought about going to college, I had committed to UVA in Virginia, but after the tournament in Rio de Janeiro I couldn’t say no to the professional circuit.
One of the goals this season was to play the Next Gen ATP Finals, compete against the other 7 best players under 20. I don’t like to compare myself to other players, I want to be myself,” he defined in an interview with ATP.
