Elena Rybakina has employed a brand new coach following the departure of Goran Ivanisevic because the world No. 5 employed 1998 Wimbledon quarterfinalist Davide Sanguinetti to her crew.

After saying that Stefano Vukov was rejoining her crew in early January, the early rumors instructed that Ivanisevic would depart the Kazakh’s crew after the Australian Open.

And precisely that occurred, whereas Vukov continues to be not allowed to formally coach as a result of the WTA’s investigation into his conduct continues to be ongoing.

Whereas Rybakina continues to be ready to see what’s going to occur with the 37-year-old, she added a brand new voice to her crew.

Sanguinetti, a former two-time ATP champion, most notably labored with former world No. 1 Dinara Safina and he additionally had stints with Vincent Spadea, Go Soeda and Brandon Nakashima.

“We just did one week of preparation with him,” Rybakina informed AFP.

“I knew him a little bit from before. So he was actually available. We’ll see how it goes but for now I’m happy with the way we worked this week and hopefully it goes well for us. But again, it’s something you need to take time [with] and get used to each other.”

Ivanisevic left Rybakina’s crew shortly after her Australian Open run ended

Of their first Grand Slam as a duo, the Kazakh tennis star made the round-of-16 earlier than dropping to eventual champion Madison Keys.

A day after the 25-year-old concluded her run at Melbourne Park, the 2001 Wimbledon champion introduced he was leaving her crew.

“After our trial period that finished with Australian Open, I wish Elena and her team best of luck moving forward,” Ivanisevic introduced by means of Instagram.

In the meantime, Rybakina’s first event with Sanguinetti comes at this week’s Abu Dhabi Open, the place she is the defending champion and has a first-round bye.

Though their partnership is simply beginning, it will likely be fascinating to see what occurs with the Italian coach if Vukov is allowed to return.
