With a double 6-1, Elena Rybakina defeated sixteen-year-old Emerson Jones, qualifying for the 2nd spherical of the Australian Open 2025.

The Kazakh tennis participant, who had a stormy eve of the Blissful Slam as a result of comeback of her historic coach Stefano Vukov in her staff, touched on some fascinating subjects within the on-courts interview, additionally permitting herself a joke (or a humorous problem!) along with her present coach Goran Ivanisevic.

Elena had the sensitivity to reward her sixteen-year-old opponent, regardless of having defeated her fairly clearly.

“I watched her matches a bit. When you don’t know your opponent, I try to focus on myself. I know that serving is a big key in my game. I focused on that. It took me a couple of matches to get used to her shots. She’s very young, very talented. She has a great future ahead of her,” stated the Kazakh.

Rybakin, analyzing the match in additional element, defined how she tried to take a step ahead even when she misplaced slightly focus.

“I lost concentration. I was quite quick to get down to 0-40. I knew I had to take a step forward. I hope to continue like this,” she added.

The previous Wimbledon winner then responded to a query about her coach Ivanisevic and who, between the 2, has the higher serve.

“We haven’t really talked about it much! Maybe I should play him on the practice court,” she stated with a smile.
