Throughout a good three-set win over residence favourite Destanee Aiava within the second spherical, the world No. 12 was going backwards and forwards with the spectators.
All through the match, the Melbourne crowd was closely on the Australian participant’s facet.
However the problem Collins had was that she felt the Australian Open crowd was stepping over the road and being disrespectful.
So after telling the group to “shut up” throughout the match, the American 31-year-old taunted them following her win, saying she was going to take that “fat cheque” and deal with herself with a very nice trip.
In her newest Instagram publish, she uploaded a minute-and-a-half-long publish, sharing how life appears for her as of late.
What Collins mentioned after her incident with the Australian Open crowd?
“One of the greatest things about being a professional athlete is the people that don’t like you and the people that hate you, they actually pay your bills. It’s kind of a cool concept,” the previous world No. 7 mentioned after the match.
“Obviously, my professional career is not going to last forever. So I just remind myself every day when I have that kind of stuff, they’re paying my bills.
“Every person that’s bought a ticket to come out here and heckle me or do what they do, it’s all going towards the Danielle Collins Fund.
“Yeah, bring it on. I love it. Me and my group of girlfriends love a five-star vacation.
“I can guarantee you that cheque is going to go towards our next five-star trip, hopefully to the Bahamas.”
