Coach Goran Ivanisevic has ended his transient collaboration with Elena Rybakina, concluding their partnership only one month after it started. The Croatian tennis legend introduced the choice to not proceed past their trial interval in a press release shared on Instagram.

“After our trial period that finished with Australian Open, I wish Elena and her team best of luck moving forward,” the previous Novak Djokovic coach wrote on social media.

The partnership was clouded from the outset on account of lingering controversies involving Rybakina’s earlier coach, fellow Croatian Stefano Vukov. Vukov, at the moment beneath investigation by the WTA for alleged abusive conduct, was controversially reinstated to Rybakina’s group shortly earlier than Ivanisevic’s departure. This transfer reportedly positioned Ivanisevic in an uncomfortable place, in the end prompting his choice to step away.
