The Italian then congratulated his opponent for the efficiency proven by the South American.
“Nicolas played very well in the first two sets, especially in the way he served in the important moments. He also played well from the baseline, being very aggressive. I could have lost the first two sets, you never know in this sport. I managed the tie-breaks very well,” he stated.
Sinner grew to become the fourth participant to win 15 consecutive hard-court matches at Slams, becoming a member of a small group of champions that features Andre Agassi, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
“It’s incredible to be there next to their names. I’m just trying to create my own story. I like hard courts and these conditions, especially when it’s not too hot like today,” Sinner stated.
