Andre Agassi gave an attention-grabbing interview to the Australian Open Podcast, through which he talked concerning the Melbourne event, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the 2 favorites to win the title within the first Grand Slam title of the yr.

Within the video Agassi talked about his profession, analyzing: “When I arrived on the Tour I was one of the few players capable of being very offensive on both sides, of attacking both high and low balls, which gave me a certain advantage.

Over time I began to understand that aggression better, to control it, to find that balance that would lead me to exploit all my potential. On bad days I suffered a lot on the court, I didn’t have the discipline to control my emotions. In this aspect I envy Carlos Alcaraz a lot, because he is always positive,” he mentioned.

Agassi talked intimately about his relationship with the Australian Open, explaining: “I missed this tournament for nine years and then regretted it, I missed so many opportunities in the first decade of my career. Eventually this tournament became my top priority. The game has changed a lot in the last twenty years.

I have always been a firm believer in being very good at hitting the ball, I think that’s what made me achieve so many things in my career, something I could see right now in someone like Jannik Sinner. You see him hitting the ball and it makes you feel good, even with the sound of the impact.

Mentally, I think everything Daniil Medvedev does is great, the way he does it. Also Alex De Minaur’s fighting spirit catches my attention, how he moves, how he takes you off the court, his speed. Of course watching Carlos Alcaraz is a lot of fun, I could spend hours watching him play, the way he tortures his opponents with drop shots drives me crazy.”
